Batman is traditionally considered an example of Kantian Ethics, he follows a set of rules that he created himself, and he almost always acts from duty to these rules (except maybe in The Dark Knight when he chooses to save Rachel because of his personal relationship with her, however, this may be compatible with the categorical imperative). Batman devotes his life to helping others by becoming a vigilante, however, if everyone became a vigilante, it would probably work against the purpose of vigilantism, since it is foreseeable that more people would be hurt than helped. Therefore, Batman may be breaking the Categorical Imperative after all. Batman movies are not exclusively related to Kantian Ethics, students have found many ethical topics in Batman's movies.
